Pupil Premium
The Pupil Premium Grant is additional funding provided to schools by the government to help reduce inequalities and support pupils who may face barriers to learning. This funding is allocated to benefit children who:
- are currently entitled to Free School Meals (FSM)
- have been eligible for Free School Meals at any point in the last 6 years (known as Ever 6)
- are looked-after children or have been in local authority care
- are children of current Service Personnel
- have had a parent in the Armed Forces at any point in the last 6 years
How schools use Pupil Premium funding
Schools have the freedom to decide how best to use this funding, as they are best placed to identify the specific needs of their pupils. However, schools must also demonstrate the impact of this funding and publish details on their website each year, outlining:
- how the funding has been spent
- the reasons behind these decisions
- the difference the funding has made to pupil outcomes
Our commitment
At Morley Meadow Primary and Nursery, we are committed to supporting the pastoral, social and academic development of all children. Our aim is to ensure that every pupil, regardless of their background, has the opportunity to thrive.
The Pupil Premium forms a vital part of our work to narrow the attainment gap and to ensure that vulnerable pupils receive high-quality support tailored to their needs. Staff and governors work closely together to use this funding effectively so that all children can enjoy success and make strong progress.
