Head Teacher's Welcome
A very warm welcome to Morley Meadow Primary and Nursery.
We are a single-form entry school located in the heart of the Saltram Meadow community in Plymstock. It is both a privilege and an honour to be the founding Headteacher of this wonderful school, which opened in September 2021.
At Morley Meadow, our vision is "Preparing Every Child to Thrive in a Changing World." Everything we do is driven by this commitment. We want every child to leave us as a confident, compassionate and resilient learner, equipped with the knowledge, skills and character needed to succeed in an ever-changing future. Our value, Ask, Aspire and Achieve, reflects our ambition for all children to be curious, strive for excellence and fulfil their potential.
As proud members of the Westcountry Schools Trust, we benefit greatly from collaboration across the Trust. This collective approach strengthens our school improvement journey and enables us to share expertise, innovation and best practice for the benefit of all our pupils.

We believe that every child deserves the opportunity to thrive socially, emotionally and academically, developing confidence, independence and a lifelong love of learning.
We are incredibly proud that our most recent Ofsted inspection recognised the strength of our school, judging Morley Meadow to be operating at a Strong Standard across all areas. Inspectors described a school where pupils "thrive socially, emotionally and academically" and highlighted our ambitious curriculum, strong achievement, exceptional inclusion, nurturing relationships and impeccable behaviour. The report celebrated the dedication of our staff team, the quality of teaching and the way in which pupils are supported to flourish both within and beyond the classroom.
At Morley Meadow, we provide high-quality teaching through a rich, engaging and carefully sequenced curriculum. Our children are encouraged to be curious, creative and confident learners. We make excellent use of our outdoor spaces, including our woodland environment, enabling children to explore, investigate and connect with the natural world through meaningful learning experiences.
Our teacher-led nursery provides a strong foundation for children's learning and development from the very start of their educational journey. Across the school, we place great importance on developing positive relationships and creating a strong sense of belonging for every child and family. We know that children achieve their very best when home and school work in partnership, and we are committed to building strong, trusting relationships with our community.
Visitors regularly comment on the warm, welcoming atmosphere that exists throughout the school. Guided by our rules of being Ready, Respectful and Safe, we strive to create a culture where every child feels happy, secure and able to succeed.
