Year 6 - Otters
Welcome to Otters' Class.
During this year, we will be covering lots of exciting topics, showing off our knowledge in our SATs and ending the year with our Bude adventure!
We will be historians learning about the Mayans and how they lived. We will also be studying the World War 2 and the effect it had on the people of Plymouth.
In RE, we will be investigating different religious groups (including Sikhs, Christians and Buddhists) and their relationships with their Gods.
We will be taking a tour around the world in Geography, learning about climate change and how we use energy on Earth.
We will be scientists learning about the human body (including dissecting lamb's hearts) and how we inherit physical characteristics from our parents, furthermore, we will see how light can be made to travel around corners!
We will also be artists exploring our creative sides with our 'Brave Colour' topic and in DT, we are redesigning packaging to appeal to a prospective buyer!
In PE, we will try out a range of new skills and sports and round off the year with a trip to Bude for an adventure where we will be surfing, rock climbing, mountain boarding, caving and more!
Mr Oaten in the class teacher supported by Mrs Burton, Mr Hassell and Mrs Hunt. Mrs Burton is the class Teaching Assistant and will be teaching Otters on a Thursday afternoon.
